One of my favourite topics to talk about with a particular friend is the marriage proposal. Of course from what we see in the movies we had a hopless romantic point of view.
She wanted him to write "will you marry me" with flowers, and then be taken on board of a plane to see it from above....
Mine was... a bit more realistic, in my opinion the most romantic wedding proposal was the one Richard Gere said to Julia Roberts in Runaway Bride.
I want him to kneel, hold my hand look me in the eye and say: "Look, I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me."

I liked the idea of your proposal ,felt that you are like a princess waiting for her prince to come and propse her!
I think that it's a man's job to make his "girl" feel like she's a princess to him.
And the proposal is the begining of the marriage, which is a lifetime so it HAS to be perfect.

The idea of a dreamy proposal doesnt happen much in our world, it is to be expected at a certain point in a relationship, of course he can suprise you by a mgaical propsal but believe me, with all the formalities that we go through, there is no time to waste on something like that :(
But who knows, you might get what you want, but me for example, i knew all along that this is where we're heading, i was only surprised when he showed up to make it official although we have agreed to otherwise, he didnt write it with roses or neon lights or anything, the look in his eyes meant much more to me than all that.
what really matters that the person you're with knows where he's heading and what he wants, the rest is history, may god bless you with a guy who would make all your dreams come true :)
Wow, never gave it much thought. I guess my ideal marriage proposal would take place anywhere and anyhow, but it would be from the man I love.:)

i liked so much your choice of words, yeh true life was never pinky, it will have tough times and both of u will have to be awae of that, so ur proposal was so delicate and real at the same time...Uhhhh

You're right what touched me the most about the proposal is its realness. I'm very weak infront of ever lasting love. Meaning not the passionate, hot, strong, kind of lusty love. But the love that is transformed to an everyday reality, simple, sweet, kind and lasts a lifetime.
And felt these words represent it the most.
Me, I never thought of myself as a romantic person before but alot of people are telling me this lately. Maybe I'm a secret romantic. :)
